With the fifth wave of the pandemic hits a two-year high in the number of daily cases since the outbreak in Hong Kong two years ago, CTS Holdings HK and its subsidiaries have shouldered their social responsibilities as state-owned enterprises, donating medical supplies to local communities, while running quarantine hotels and passenger transport services in an effort to fully underpin the SAR government and the people of Hong Kong in the pandemic response.
More Masks Donated
As facial masks play an essential part in infection prevention, CTS Holdings HK purchases and hands over 390,000 masks to 9 communities, such as Shau Kei Wan and Hung Hom in the continuous activity of "CTS Holdings HK Service in Community", delivering our care and love to the grassroots citizens in the fighting against the pandemic.

On February 11, a CTTTS HK bus carried a delegation of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government headed by Chief Secretary for Administration John Lee Ka-chiu to Shenzhen to attend the 2nd special exchange meeting on COVID-19 between the Mainland and Hong Kong. Since 2021, CTTTS Bus has been undertaking transport service for the business travels for the exchange of information on COVID-19 response between the SAR government and the mainland.

With the surging demand for travel service back to the mainland in the new pandemic wave, the Shenzhen Bay Port is struggling with the heavy incoming traffic. The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge port is opened as an emergency entry following governmental agreement. HZM Bus, a bus branch managed by CTTTS HK Bus, allocates vehicles and personnel and resumes the two-way shifts of HZM Bus on February 12 through cooperation with governments on both sides. The company puts the focus on epidemic prevention and disinfection, so that the travelers from Hong Kong could have a safe trip to their homeland.

Quarantining Hotels with Care and Love
Metropark Hotel Kowloon, a subsidiary of CTS Holdings HK, has been chosen as a quarantine facility for inbound passengers by the SAR government for the sixth time consecutively. The hotel carries out strict standardized closed-loop operation and keeps stringent infection prevention measures such as disinfection and garbage sorting in the hotel, sparing no cost to realize the goal of "preventing both imported and domestic infections".

In addition, CTS Holdings HK's Metropark Hotel Mongkok and Kew Green Hotel Wanchai in Hong Kong have contacted the SAR authorities to offer quarantine services for mitigating the lack of quarantine and inspection facilities.

CDFI Donates Rapid Test Kits
The employees with CTS Holdings HK under China Duty Free International Limited (CDFI) visit the elderly in Sham Shui Po District multiple times, voluntarily disinfecting their houses and fetching them supplies. Upon the fifth wave outbreak, CDFI donated HK$ 90,000 worth of rapid test kits and other supplies to local communities, encouraging self-testing among citizens to help cut off the transmission of the virus timely and mitigate the stress on the testing stations.

Staff and Volunteers Deliver Care and Love in Communities
Facing the risk, the staff and volunteers of CTS Holdings HK go forth into communities to help residents overcome difficulties in their lives, protecting the citizens and community with practical actions.
Perry Yiu Pak-leung, a member of the Legislative Council of Hong Kong SAR and chairman of China Travel Service (Hong Kong) Limited, got into residential buildings in Ping Tin District to hand out masks. He also called on the SAR government’ concern to the tourism industry in the hope that this business sector could resume business operation with an open border to Guangdong Province after achieving the goal of "dynamic zero-COVID" as early as possible.

Scott Leung Man-kwong, a member of the Legislative Council of the Hong Kong SAR, and HR Manager of CITS Hong Kong, arranged shuttle buses by all means to pick up 600 elderly and disabled residents to go to and back from the test station when he found no mobile test station is deployed for the mandatory test when the community of his responsibility - Fu Yue Building, Fu Cheong Estate, Sham Shui Po - is temporarily locked down.

Poon Kwok-Wah, Lam Tak-Shing, and Fu Pik-Chun are staff of CTS Holdings HK and district councilor serving Hoi Sham District, Hung Hom District, and Kwun Tong District respectively. They promote vaccination and rapid test in their communities to help residents improve their awareness of pandemic prevention & control, and offer coordination to government agencies in residential disinfection service. They also organize volunteers to help package the "rapid test kit", mobilize resources from all circles to provide pandemic prevention supplies to the vulnerable. So far, they have distributed 127,300 masks, 22,500 bottles of alcohol hand sanitizer, 9,500 rapid test kits, 350 cleaning kits, 20 thermometers, 100 fire blankets, and 1,500 boxes of health care granules in the communities.

Since last May, CTTTS HK Bus, a subsidiary of CTS Holdings HK, has sent more than 20 employees to operate the community vaccine center in Hiu Kwong Street, Kwun Tong District under the management of two young CTS Holdings HK staff members. Although Kwun Tong District is the most populated district in Hong Kong, the team members provide premium services to about 2,700 persons every day overcoming long working time and the high risk of infection in the center as one of the most heavy-loaded community vaccine facilities in Hong Kong.

To facilitate the vaccination for children and the community residents, some team members in the Kwun Tong center have been sent to the Hong Kong Children's Hospital, community vaccination centers, and mobile vaccination stations to offer a helping hand. They have provided vaccination services for more than 300,000 residents in 100 shifts in schools, government agencies, and corporate organizations.

To faithfully fulfill its responsibilities as a state-owned enterprise, CTS Holdings HK will continue to support and cooperate with the Hong Kong SAR government and residents to fight against the pandemic for a final victory! (CTS Holdings HK Social Relations Department)
