Shanghai, September 22, 2023 - The 2023 North Bund Forum, themed "Openness, Cooperation and Innovation: Co-building a New Landscape of Global Shipping Aviation", commenced at the World Reception Hall on the North Bund of Shanghai. The opening was graced by the presence of Chen Jining, Secretary of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, and a video address by Li Xiaopeng, Minister of Transport. Wang Haimin, CTG General Manager, was a distinguished participant at the main forum and the concurrent aviation forum. He delivered a speech on "Linking New Patterns of Tourism to Create New Prosperity in Consumption".

Mr. Wang highlighted the symbiotic relationship between tourism and aviation as one of mutual support and common progress. He noted that both sectors are experiencing a resurgent trajectory characterized by stability and high growth this year. As a state-owned enterprise with tourism at its core, CTG has always maintained a broad and fruitful cooperation with the aviation sector, overcoming challenges and sharing opportunities with partners. Mr. Wang expressed CTG's willingness to further strengthen exchanges and cooperations, and complement advantages to empower one another with the aviation industry partners. By joining forces to "go global" and "bring in" in collaboration with partners, CTG is committed to innovate tourism consumption scenes to "ease pain points", and expand tourism boundaries with digital innovation. This endeavor is aimed to provide better tourism experience to the public and thus effectively serve the nation's new development pattern.
This year's forum, co-hosted by the Shanghai Municipal People's Government and the Ministry of Transport of PRC, featured an opening ceremony and a main forum alongside parallel forums on international maritime and international aviation. Additionally, six thematic forums focusing on green development, smart technologies, safety, rescue operations, legal, and financial aspects of the shipping industry were held. Chinese and international guests have gathered to engage in dialogues on the industry's hot topics.
