CTG Group Brings 300 Students and Mentors to Visit PLA Hong Kong Garrison Exhibition Center

HONG KONG, August 11, 2023 - In cooperation with the Hong Kong Chinese Enterprises Association, CTG organized a visit to the PLA Hong Kong Garrison Exhibition Center for 300 students and mentors of the "Strive and Rise Programme", an initiative led by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) government.



Distinguished attendees included Mr. Chan Kwok-ki, Chief Secretary for Administration of the Hong Kong SAR government; Major General Zheng Guoyue, deputy commander of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Hong Kong Garrison; Mr. Chen Yin, Chairman of CTS Holdings HK; Mr. Lv Youqing, Director of CTS Holdings HK; Mr. Yu Xiao, President of the Hong Kong Chinese Enterprises Association; Mr. Lv Feng, Deputy Director of the Commercial Office of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in HK S.A.R.; and Mr. Wong Kwok-chun, Deputy Director of the Social Welfare Department of the Hong Kong S.A.R. government.



Expressing gratitude to the Hong Kong Garrison, the Hong Kong Chinese Enterprises Association, and CTG Group for their meticulous planning of the event, Mr. Chan Kwok-ki emphasized that this visit is an important eventof the "Strive and Rise Programme" for teenagers. He encouraged participants to foster a deepened sense of national identity, commitment to national security, and readiness to shoulder the responsibilities under the "One country, Two systems" framework.



During the event, guests like Mr. Chan Kwok-ki and Mr. Chen Yin engaged in conversations with students and mentors from the Programme, learning about their academic and daily lives. They encouraged the students to visit Mainland China, especially the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area, to expand their horizons and set ambitious goals for the future.



Since the inception of the "Strive and Rise Programme", CTG has shown unwavering support, pairing 40 staff members with students as mentors, and the efforts have been greatly acknowledged. CTG has also initiated events such as "CTG Care to Community," "Tourism Services to Community," the exhibition of "Zodiac Heads from Yuanmingyuan and Important Treasures", and the initiative to send 1 million Hong Kong youths for a tour to the mainland, and sponsored Hong Kong Youth Festival, Free Tram Ride Days, and CSSA Hong Kong college Basketball Tournament. These activities aim to deepen Hong Kong youths' understanding of China's rich civilization and remarkable national development, nurturing patriotism and love for Hong Kong.



The PLA Hong Kong Garrison Exhibition Center is the first venue outside the mainland of China to comprehensively portray the history of the CPC, PRC, and PLA. Themed "Dreams Begin in the East," the exhibition consists of three themed exhibition halls (about the Chinese dream, the dream of building a powerful military and guardians of Hong Kong) and a zone displaying models of military equipment. The exhibition vividly showcases the PLA's glorious journey from one victory to another and its unwavering commitment to the "One Country, Two Systems" principle, ensuring Hong Kong's long-term prosperity and stability.



This is the second session of visits to the Exhibition Center, with over 200 individuals attending the inaugural event. Participants and mentors hail from various institutions, including Po Leung Kuk, New Home Association, Tung Wah Group of Hospitals, Hong Kong Youth Service Office, and many more. The event was hosted by Mr. Chen Rong, Assistant General Manager of CTG, and attended by legislators from CTG, district councilors, representatives of communities and the CTG Social Work Department, and CTG managers in Hong Kong.
