Recently, Group Chairman Chen Yin visited Shanghai and met with the leaders of Shanghai Pudong New Area, China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone Administration, Lingang Special Area, Shanghai Customs, Shanghai Municipal Market Supervisory Authority (MSA), Shanghai Food and Drug Administration, and Shanghai Airport Authority. Mr. Chen also investigated the business of Shanghai Sunrise Duty Free Store of CTG Duty-Free.
Mr. Chen and Zhu Zhisong, member of the Standing Committee of Shanghai Municipal Committee, Party Secretary of Pudong New Area, Director of Shanghai Pilot Free Trade Zone Administration, Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Lingang Special Area, and Director of Administrative Committee, attended a seminar on further support to Sunrise Duty Free (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. a subsidiary engaging in the duty-free business, in the pilot business of bonded display trade. Mr. Chen was appreciative to Shanghai Municipal Party Committee and Pudong New Area District Party Committee for their support for the development of the Group. He said that the innovative business carried out by Sunrise Shanghai in Pudong Airport Comprehensive Free Trade Zone is in line with the strategic positioning of building Shanghai into an international consumption metropolis. Sunrise would push forward the "Global Consumer Brand Agglomeration Plan" of Pudong area, with its effort to expand the import and export and bring back the high-end consumption from overseas. Mr. Chen hope Sunrise would get further support from Shanghai Municipal Committee and Pudong New Area District Committee.
Secretary Zhu Zhisong welcomed Mr. Chen and his party. He said that Sunrise's business pilots had made positive contributions to increasing Shanghai's import and export business volume and promoting local economic development. He also emphasized that it had accumulated valuable experience for Shanghai, especially Pudong, not only in implementing the new development concept, cultivating new consumption forms and new business models but also in promoting consumption upgrading and innovation. Pudong New Area, Shanghai Pilot Free Trade Zone Administration and the Bonded Area Administrative Bureau will all provide support for the innovative pilot businesses.
Mr. Chen then met with Gao Rongkun, Director and Party Secretary of Shanghai Customs. The two sides had a symposium on supporting Sunrise Shanghai to continue to carry out the innovative pilot business of bonded display trade in Shanghai Pudong Airport Comprehensive Bonded Zone.
Mr. Chen also met with Chen Xuejun, Director and Deputy Secretary of the party group of MSA, and Wen Daxiang, member of the party group of MSA, party group secretary and director of Shanghai Municipal Food and Drug Administration, with the highly effective talk on supporting Sunrise Shanghai to carry out the innovative pilot business of bonded display trade of imported cosmetics in Shanghai.
Qin Yun, Chairman of Shanghai Airport Authority, expressed his warm welcome to Mr. Chen and his party during their meeting. Both sides reviewed the long-term cooperation between Shanghai Airport and Sunrise Duty Free (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., the joint response to the anti-epidemic, and the signing of strategic cooperation agreements for business in Hong Kong, along with an in-depth discussions on further strategic cooperation in new fields by both parties.
Mr. Chen's visits have reached a consensus on cooperation between the Group and relevant governments, regulatory authorities, and expanded new space for further exploration of Group's duty-free business in Shanghai market.
During the period, Mr. Chen inspected China Duty Free Group (CDFG) Sunrise Complex project and CDFG Sunrise Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. located in Shanghai Pudong Airport Comprehensive Bonded Zone. The leaders of CTG Duty-Free, CDFG Sunrise and CDFG Sunrise Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. made special reports on the companies' basic situations, progress and future development plan.
Mr. Chen emphasized that the CDFG Sunrise in Comprehensive Bonded Zone and the Intelligent Technology company fall in line with the strategic development direction of the Group, serving as innovative arms in the digital transformation of the Group to catch up to the trend of online shopping. As pointed out by Mr. Chen, these projects are expected to explore the possibility for the continuous expansion of online business for CTG Duty-Free, integration of offline/online platforms through technology, and promotion of the company's overall brand image. "The integration of online platforms helps cost intensive management; equity incentives facilitate the gathering of talents." He encouraged the new company to continue with the innovation and form a joint force by treasuring talents and uniting their will. He urged the new company to pursue all-in-one membership services throughout CDFG, and further integrate the membership system of Group, sharing the resource pool to the maximum extent to empower business.
