On May 19, the main venue event for China Tourism Day 2026 themed “Enjoy Quality Tourism, Embrace Magnificent Landscapes Together” was held in Guangzhou. Huang Kunming, Secretary of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee, attended and launched the event. Sun Yeli, Vice Minister of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Culture and Tourism, Meng Fanli, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee and Governor of Guangdong Province, and Wang Haimin, Chairman of CTG, were present and delivered addresses.
In his speech, Wang Haimin noted that General Secretary Xi Jinping recently issued important instructions on the development of the service sector, stressing the need to foster more “Chinese Services” brands. Integrating high-end manufacturing and modern services, the cruise industry forms a critical industrial chain for building brands from “Made in China” to “Chinese Services”. Standing at the starting point of the 15th Five-Year Plan, China’s cruise industry is expanding new consumption space driven by market demand, unlocking new market momentum through reform breakthroughs, pioneering new service models empowered by technology, and opening new outbound channels via open cooperation, contributing to building a maritime power and a tourism power.
At the event, Wang Haimin announced that “Adora Flora City”, China’s second domestically built large cruise ship, will hold its grand maiden voyage at Nansha, Guangzhou, on November 22, with tickets officially on sale from midnight May 20.
As the sister ship of China’s first homegrown large cruise vessel “Adora Magic City”, “Adora Flora City” has undergone comprehensive upgrades in spatial design, smart technologies and onboard cruise experience. It is dedicated to delivering a maritime cultural exploration journey that is “more elegant, smarter and more Chinese” for guests from home and abroad. The maiden voyage season offers six international itineraries of short, medium and long durations covering Hong Kong SAR of China, Vietnam, Singapore and other destinations, helping the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area build a world-class cruise hub. The maiden voyage route departs from Guangzhou for a 6-day/5-night journey to Hong Kong SAR of China and Hue (Chan May), Vietnam.
