On May 22nd, the 14th China - U.S. Tourism Leadership Summit opened in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, under the theme of "Expanding China-U.S. Travel and Tourism and People-to-people Exchanges". The event aimed to strengthen dialogue, deepen cooperation, and promote cultural exchange between China and the United States. Nearly 400 representatives from government agencies, local authorities, and businesses from both countries attended the event. Representatives from both sides expressed their commitment to further advancing tourism cooperation and fostering people-to-people exchanges.
CTG General Manager Wang Haimin participated in the summit and delivered a keynote speech. In his address, Wang emphasized China Tourism Group's longstanding commitment to promoting cultural exchanges between China and the United States, highlighting the historical and ongoing friendship between the two nations. He noted that in recent years, CTG has engaged in extensive cooperation with American partners in various fields, including travel services, cruises, hotels, and tourism retail, forging strong partnerships. Moving forward, CTG will implement the consensus reached by the leaders of both countries, using this summit as an opportunity to promote broader and deeper cultural exchanges between China and the U.S. He noted the vast potential and significant opportunities for China-U.S. tourism cooperation, advocating for enhanced enterprise collaboration, tourism facilitation, and digital cooperation to further mutual understanding and benefit.
During the summit, Mr. Wang met with Mr. Chris Clark, Chairman of Visa Asia Pacific, to discuss advancing cooperation in travel services, duty-free shopping, hotels, and credit services. While in Xi'an, Wang also conducted field visits to CTG INVESTMENT's residential project in Xi'an High-tech Zone and CTG INTERNATIONAL's Ocean Spring Resort Xianyang.
