Haikou, April 13 - China International Consumer Products Expo 2024 officially commenced today in Haikou, under the theme "Share Open Opportunities, Co-create a Better Life". This event is a collaborative effort between the Hainan Provincial Bureau of International Economic Development and CTG Duty-Free. Chairman Chen Yin of CTG delivered the opening remarks.
During his speech, Chairman Chen highlighted the bright prospects of the global tourism market and the expansive opportunities within the tourism retail sector. He noted the accelerating recovery of tourism consumption in China and the vibrant potential of the Hainan offshore duty-free market, consolidating the stature of Hainan as an international tourism and consumption center. Chairman Chen emphasized that CTG and its CTG Duty-Free arm adhere closely to the directive of President Xi Jinping to attract consumers through "Integrity Operation and Quality Service". A pioneering initiative has been launched at the Sanya International Duty Free Shopping Complex to establish a demonstration site embodying these core values, thereby supporting the development of Hainan as an international tourism consumption center and a free-trade port. With the joint efforts of market factors and government, tourism as a rigid demand in people’s pursuit for a better life, will play a greater fundamental role in the economy growth.
The Expo embraces the concept of "whole island exhibition", featuring three sub-venues including the CDF Haikou International Duty Free Shopping Complex, which is open to all visitors showcasing new consumption scenarios in duty-free shopping. CTG Duty-Free is also conducting themed marketing activities across its Hainan stores, further unleashing consumer potential and enhancing the shopping experience.
From April 11 to 13, Chairman Chen visited the Sanya Phoenix Airport Duty Free Shop and met with representatives from major brands such as COTY Group, Estée Lauder, PUIG, Pernod Ricard and The Edrington Group, among others. At the launch event on April 13, in-depth discussions were held with Mr. Feng Fei, Secretary of the CPC Hainan Provincial Committee, Mr. Liu Xiaoming, Governor of Hainan Province, and Mr. Sheng Qiuping, Vice Minister of Commerce, focusing on the enhancement of Hainan’s tourism and consumer sectors. Senior officials from CTG Duty-Free participated in these discussions.
Moving forward, CTG Duty-Free, supported by CTG, will leverage the Global Consumption Event Series and the "Year of Consumption Promotion" to fulfill the aspirations of the people for a better life. Committed to "Integrity Operation and Quality Service," CTG Duty-Free aims to deepen its engagement in Hainan, integrate more effectively into new development patterns, and propel global consumption innovation.
