The Detian Waterfalls in Daxin County, Chongzuo City, Guangxi, on the Sino-Vietnamese border, is the largest transnational waterfall in Asia. Daxin County is honored as "famous tourism county with Guangxi characteristics", "hometown of Chinese Nongdong Culture", and "hometown of Chinese hereditary headmen culture".
The Detian Waterfalls is named after Detian Village, Shoulong Town, Daxin County. Situated among the picturesque mountains and waters along the China-Vietnam border, 57 kilometers away from the seat of Daxin County, 95 kilometers away from Chongzuo City, and 196 kilometers away from Nanning City, the capital of Guanxi, The Detian Waterfalls scenic area covers a floor area of about 5.75 square kilometers. The whole winding area looks just like a Jade Ruyi, corresponding to the implied meaning of its name of "abound in gifts of nature". Taking Detian-Bản Giốc Transnational Waterfalls as the center, it extends its scope to many unique natural and cultural landscapes endowed with transnational resources such as Transnational Fair, To-the-Spring River, Clouds over Green Island, Sun Valley, No. 53 Boundary Tablet, Fortress Hill. The tourists can take the sightseeing bus to reach the The Detian Waterfalls while appreciating the scenic spots of Clouds over Green Island, Boundary Villages, To-the-Spring River along the way. After entering the waterfall area, you will experience the beauty of the transnational river and the transnational pastoral scenery through the 360° loop tour.

The Detian Waterfall is over 200m wide and has a drop of more than 70m on a three-tiered cliff with 60m depth, adjacent to Bản Giốc Waterfall in Vietnam. It is the largest transnational waterfall in Asia and the most beautiful waterfall in China, characterized by layering water pour, surging water flow, and tremendous water momentum. As the presentation of the power and emotion of rivers, a waterfall is formed when a river plunges over a steep slope or cliff in a riverbed. The Detian Waterfalls is formed where the To-the-Spring River gets blocked by the Putang Island, a high cliff in three stages sitting in the middle of the river. The cliff terrain guides the water overflows to split and gather at different locations, giving rise to a unique landscape. The first stage of the waterfall with large drop and violent potential splashes white fog blocking the sky, and its thunder is audible before it even comes into view. Though the waterfall is mitigated at the shorter second stage, there are still innumerable sprays. The waterfall slips into the river through smooth stone step in the third stage. The average annual flow of the waterfall is 55.2 cubic meters per second, about three times that of Huangguoshu Waterfalls in Guizhou, earning a name as "natural oxygen bar" for rich negative ions in the air.
Apart from its magnificence, the green mountains, graceful waters, beautiful waterfalls, and distinct karst landform with characteristics of the south China also attract many tourists at home and abroad, and camera crews for films and TV plays. The TV series The Journey of Flower, The Ninth Widow, Country Spirit, Legend of Love, Country Basketball Team, The Last Breakthrough, and the first global extreme sports challenge series documentary The Journey of Ultimate Challenge all have scenes shot here.

The projects jointly developed by China and Vietnam, such as Fantastic Night, China-Vietnam Cross-border Duty-free Street, Jungle Plank Road, and Overlook Vietnam on High, would be officially put into service in the summer vacation time of 2020 as the name card of border tourism in Guangxi. Particularly, the Fantastic·Detian Night, which is the first immersive international night visual feast in Asia, will change the regional tourism operation mode and business format pattern, and greatly enrich the leisure and vacation products in Detian.
With the completion of the transnational tourism cooperation zone of the China-Vietnam Detain-Bản Giốc Waterfall, this attraction will become an important part of the Belt and Road Initiative, China-ASEAN Free Trade Area, and a distinctive tourism destination for international visitors.
